From nowhere came the living legend, combined hiplife and highlife. The originators idea was to do hiplife in his mother language. This brought about the formation of hiplife.

Hiplife, since its arrival in 1994 has passed through different categories. One of his category is hiplife is Raglife.

The industry has produced sensations like the living legend Reggie Rockstone (The Originator), Nana Quame, Kontihene, Obrafuor and the host of others.

On the international level hiplife is really making an impact. When it started, people thought it would not catch on with the Ghanaian society but it has taken firm root in the industry.

Certain immoral vices through hiplife have been debunked and preached against and this is gradually making an impact.

After the originators idea, there were people who aided in making is successful. The likes of Bola Ray, Kofi Okyere Darko, Okyeame and others.

In view of its ten year’s of existence, an event is slated to blast the shores of Ghana. The anniversary has got the theme: “The Impact of Hiplife on the Ghanaian society since its ten years of existence.”

When contacted, Mr. Joseph Kuma Mensah, the CEO of One Soul International, the developers of the concept of the 10th anniversary of hiplife in Ghana had it that One Soul is putting up a week-long activity to commemorate the event.

Some of the activities include a float, a football match and awards on celebrated hiplife artistes.

According to Koo Fori, Daryl and Okyeame all of Radio Gold who are part to the anniversary, they assure all hiplife loving fans to stay in tune for the big event slated for August.
