Where is MUSIGA's 2012 financial statement?

Almost eight (8) months into the year 2013, MUSIGA's financial statement for 2012 has not been made public; despite the union's promise to the media to do so.

For the records, MUSIGA has not furnished the media or the general public with the annual financial statement of the union for their fiscal year which ended on December 2012.

The financial report MUSIGA promised to give to the media when the union met all stakeholders in the art at their auditorium last year September was prepared to mark MUSIGA's one year in office ably headed by Bice Obour Osei Kuffour; in order to give a reflection of the union's financial position.

Flex newspaper asked Mrs. Rahmat Boakye Wasin CA of RAHMY Consult - the financial consultant to MUSIGA for clarity on MUSIGA's 2012 financial statement last year and she made it clear that the financial report brochure they gave out was an interim report for the period September 2011 to September 2012; which marked the union's one year under the leadership of Obour but the actual fiscal year of MUSIGA is from 1st January, 2012 to 31st December, 2012.

“The actual financial statement of MUSIGA for 2012 shall be communicated to the media and all stakeholders in due time” Mrs. Rahmat Boakye told all stakeholders. We are almost eight (8) months into 2013 and nothing has been heard of MUSIGA's 2012 financial statement. Since the shibboleth of the current President of MUSIGA is transparency and accountability, Flex newspaper got in touch with him and this is what he said: “it is ready in our office; I mean the audited one just that we are not making it public. However, any person who wants to see it or keep a copy can come to our office and the account department will furnish the fellow with a copy.”

Since MUSIGA has decided not to make their financial statement for 2012 public as they did with the union's one year report last year at their auditorium, it means all stakeholders in our art and entertainment industry should visit the office of MUSIGA for a copy; that will be when we can all do a serious autopsy of the figures. Until then….MOTWUM!!
