To all in the Ghanaian Dancehall and music circuit he is known as Stonebwoy Burniton.

Outdoored Livingstone Etse Satekla, he hails from the Volta region of Ghana as the 4th child of 7 siblings born on Saturday 5th March 1988.

He realised his talents and abilities as a lyricist and script writer at an early age, remembering writing and acting drama pieces as far back as fourth year in primary school.

Since then he has never stopped singing both songs that he has written and composed and those by artists he is influenced by.

Stonebwoy was introduced to recording his own track nearly a decade ago with a small recording set up that a family member had. Before and till date, he has spent most of his time composing.

In his first year at Senior High School, he was introduced to a radio DJ/presenter at Adom FM in Tema who at the time was the host of the KASAHARI show. On this show, upcoming artists would have battles every Saturday night and that is where he came into contact with artists such as Sarkodie, even though they both attended the same Senior High. Stonebwoy proudly says “I battled my way out every weekend without defeat till date”.

Stonebwoy released his first radio track “Makuma” (My Heart) in his second year at Senior High School and several others later that same year. By his third year, he had acquired himself a stable underground popularity and was thereby able to release another titled “Empress” which held him up even after leaving school in 2007.

After that, things have happened in quick succession and Stonebwoy started work with S24 studios, the studio responsible for hits from artists such as Samini, Tic Tac, Kwaw Kese, Okomfuor Kwaade, Afro Moses, Buk Bak to name a few.

There he met Samini in 2008 and clicked.

Alongside other personal running Stonebwoy and Samini still par with Loyalty and friendship. Stonebwoy has done various collaborations which are popular with artists like VIP, Samini, Kwaw Kese, Obrafour, Afro Moses, Black Rasta and many others. Climax was the first track to be released from the Grade #1" album.

Stonebwoy has been building up his repetoire of Major artists that he has shared stages with and the 30th December 2011 show at the Accra International Conference Centre, The Dome was no different. Stonebwoy performed at the “Resolution 2012” which hosted Ghanaian artists such as Black Prophet, Eazzy, Edem, Castro, Iwan, Jupiter, Kaakie, Samini and Sonni Balli and featured International acts such as Kiprich and Busy Signal.  Prior to Stonebwoy’s album launch, three new singles featuring Irene Logan “Ghetto Love”, Edem “Above The Sky” and Tinny “Onumadé” received and are still receiving a lot of airplay, not just in Ghana but in Europe, especially in Italy and Spain as well.

Under the management of Samini Music, Stonebwoy released his much awaited debut album called “Grade #1” on 6th March 2012 to coincide with Ghana’s 56th Independence Day and his birthday weekend.

Along with the most played track Climax, some of the other tracks on the album include the popular Rat Race, Rudegyal, Pullback, Crazy and more.

Stonebwoy brands himself as the "Prince of African Dancehall’ and goes with a baritone music descant – ‘BHIIM’ – which has gradually caught the lips of most of his fans in Ghana and beyond. With his first album “GRADE #1” to his credit, he is looking forward to climbing international stages and handling other music projects with all acts across the globe.

He connected with Jamaica's Karamanti in August and featured her on his song X-Factor which is currently being played on Jamaican radio and other stations in the Caribbean.

Stonebwoy recently returned from a tour in the UK with Bigg Nash Promotions fulfilling what he says is his mission to spread AFRODANCEHALL and REGGAE to the outside world.  Before his departure, he released two singles "Twincity" ft Humble Dis of R2Bees and "Submarine" in Ghana and they are doing quite well. His most recent performance was at the Radio and TV Personality Awards on 13th October where he performed on the same stage as Kojo Antwo who is one of Ghana's greatest musicians  "Stonebwoy is yet to hit CLIMAX!
