The finale of the Miss Ghana 2009 pageant hosted last Saturday at the Accra International Conference Centre turned out to be highly entertaining as local artistes billed for the night thrilled patrons with magnificent live performances.

The stars that mounted the Miss Ghana 2009 stage included the always sexy Mzbel, 4X4, VIP and Stephanie Benson, a Ghanaian artiste based in the UK.

Patrons were also tickled by an extraordinary performance from David Oscar, young Ghanaian comedy icon whose act brought some more excitement into the show. He set the auditorium on fire with his alluring jokes and unique style of delivery.

Mzbel, who performed two of her most popular songs, however failed to impress patrons with her stagecraft and dance moves.

The sensational hiplife group, 4x4, mounted the stage with fire and was consistent as they thrilled the crowd with hit song World Trade Centre.

Vision In Progress (V.I.P) also expressed their love for music throughout their performance. Their creative skills, stagecraft and style of performance shot their image to another level. Apart from exhibiting their usual vocal abilities and dancing skills, VIP got the entire audience singing along.

After V.I.P’s splendid performance, most audience members agreed that the group was truly ready to reclaim their spot as Ghana’s best hiplife group.

Stephanie Benson’s performance did not attract the needed attention as a number of patrons apparently would have preferred Becca in her stead.

At the end of the night, the judges crowned 21-year-old Mimi Areme, an HND Marketing student of the Sunyani Polytechnic, as Miss Ghana 2009.
