Liz Mitchell, a lead singer of the popular music group Boney M was in Ghana on a week’s visit for some charity work. She came on the invitation of Rev. Dr Wood and Dr. Mercy Wood, Ghanaians based in the United Kingdom and who are into charity work themselves.'

In an interview with Bola Ray host of Joy FM’s Drive Time show, Liz Mitchell said she was a born-again which most people are not aware of and “I have always have a heart for charity. At least we do four to five charity shows every year in Europe to support some charity and this is not something we make a big issue.

We came here to meet all the people we are helping.”Dr. Mrs Wood who collaborated in inviting Liz said they came to support charity to let Ghanaians know that there are some people abroad who are trying to help people here in Ghana. “We have got some projects in Koforidua, Akosombo and other rural areas and we have been to all of them to see what is happening there.”

Liz currently has a new album out ‘Let it be’ and she say she dedicated it to Jesus. She advised that if you know what will happen to you where you are going, you will keep on going but if you don’t know what will happen to you, God is the only one to save you.She was in the country for one week and says “It’s been too short, it is just one week. We just arrived by the time we look around the week is over. It’s been wonderful, it reminds me of Jamaica. It’s green like Jamaica.”
