Ghana’s ‘Rap Doctor’ popularly known as Okyeame Kwame has declared  that he is not ready to respond to allegations made against him by Okyeame Quophi that during the era of the Akyeame group, Okyeame Kwame wrote only one song on the group’s five albums.

Okyeame Quophi who spoke on Gh Entertainment hosted by Agyemang Prempeh on Rainbow Radio a couple of days ago, alleged that the only song Okyeame Kwame wrote was ‘Tintinto’.

He told the host of the programme, “I wrote all the songs on the Akyeame’s five albums because Okyeame Kwame is not a writer.”

BEATWAVES gathered that though Quophi claimed Kwame is not a song writer, it is on record that Kwame composed all the songs on his three successful albums and has also won the Songwriter of the Year award on three occasions at the Ghana Music Awards organised by Charter House.

In an interview, Okyeame Kwame said, “I don’t want to talk about Okyeame Quophi’s allegations. My career is more important than commenting on issues which will not be beneficial to me, my career as a musician, my fans and the music industry as a whole.”

Okyeame Kwame stressed that he did not want waste his time and energy on petty issues which will not contribute positively to the progress of his musical career and business.

This young, energetic music icon who has groomed himself into a professional said, “My brother, I am a musician and always want to do things that will be beneficial to the people. I want my fans to benefit from music.”

He explained that he did not want to bother himself too much with petty issues because “I want to remain focused on my musical career…I love music and for over a decade now music has been part of me both physically and spiritually. I intend to take Ghanaian music to the international level.”

In a related development, Okyeame Kwame announced that on December 6, he would premiere his much awaited new video at the African Regent Hotel in Accra.

He said the event dubbed “OK @ Play” which is under the theme; “All African Affairs” will offer his fans the opportunity to interact with him.
