Speaking at a press conference in Accra on Saturday to congratulate the president-elect, Kwaw Kese said Prof. Atta Mills should give enormous attention to the entertainment industry in Ghana to make it reach world standard.

“I plead with Prof. Mills to consider designating a ministry for entertainment to see to the affairs of all musicians, actors and actresses, producers, presenters, writers and anybody or group of people who fall under entertainment.

“He should help solve the problem of copyright and royalties which have never been transparent. Put all musician groups and associations under one umbrella. His government should invest more in show business to make entertainment vibrant and lucrative for all.”

He went on to congratulate Prof. John Evans Atta Mills for becoming the next president of Ghana.

Kwaw said, “Ayekoo and Akwaaba to Atta Mills” adding, “I want change, so we only hope that during your term in office as president that change would impact positively in the music industry and show business in general.”

He also congratulated Nana Akufo-Addo, flag bearer of the NPP, for his great role in the election. “You fought a good fight. You gave Prof a good run for his money. You showed a true character of statesmanship. Congratulations to you Nana,” he said and as well commended the media for their good work before, during and after the crucial election.

Kwaw who is also the CEO of Madtime Entertainment appealed to Prof. Mills to unite the country. “Having been voted the president of Ghana, I humbly appeal to you to unite the country.”

“For the divisions that characterised the elections, I beg of you to bring back the whole country together as one people like it used to be before the polls, now that the elections are over.

“Man of peace as you have always been described, I call on you to let peace and unity prevail during your reign. All street children need from you are jobs and good health.”

He further appealed to President John Evans Atta Mills and his government to eschew any form of victimisation against any opponent, especially musicians and other showbiz personalities who endorsed one party or the other during the electioneering campaigns.
