    I don’t sing profane songs’ - Kpetekple

One of the country’s young hip-life artistes, Daniel Martey Korley, known in music circles as Kpetekple, has refuted allegations that his hit-song, ‘Oto Too’ is profane.

The artiste told BEATWAVES when visited the offices of DAILY GUIDE that “I don’t sing profane songs. My hit-song, ‘Oto Too’, is not profane and as such the issue of profanity is subject to one's own interpretation”.

He was of the view that those making the allegation including certain radio presenters had not taken time to listen to the lyrics of the song.

He disclosed that the word ‘Oto’ is a name of a person while ‘Too’ is a local name for goat and ‘Bibioo’ means something small; so when the three words are put together, it cannot mean profanity.

He noted that he was very sad when he heard that his song was being described as profane; “I was not happy with it”.

The executive producer of Joma Records, Nii Okai Joma who produced the album, on his part, explained that music is universal and many people lend different meanings to certain lyrics that they hear on tracks.

“Music with suggestive content is not necessarily profane. It only means that people lend different meanings to its content.”
