Charterhouse, the brains behind Ghana Music Awards for the past 12 years made it known to the media yesterday that Vodafone Ghana will be the official title sponsors of GMA.
Vodafone takes over from competitor telecommunication company, MTN which successfully sponsored the music awards festival.
Executive Director of Charter House, Theresa Ayoade also said that all the existing GMA committees have been disbanded pending a review and a whole new technical team will be built to assess the GMA categories, nominations, voting and give a face-lift to the festival itself.
Before ending Mrs. Ayoade thanked MUSIGA, the Ministry of Tourism & Culture and their headline sponsor MTN for their enormous support.
The Chief Marketing Officer of Vodafone Ghana, Uche Ofodile said “as one of the most powerful means of communication, we believe we have a lot to contribute to the music and entertainment industry in Ghana. We are excited by the new ideas and concepts Charter House have in mind for the Ghana Music Awards - it's a massive event in the calendar of the music industry and we are pleased to be able to support it. The changes you will see in the GMA next year will create a more vibrant festival with a transparent and fair judging process”.
So from now on, GMA will be referred to as "Vodafone Ghana Music Awards".
