Bradez is made up of Stone and Kunta Kinte and they are very synonymous with good, free flow rhyming. They are the younger brothers of Ghana’s rap doctor, Okyeame Kwame.

The duo, who have two albums to their credit in an interview with DJ Black on the Open House Party show on Joy FM on Saturday said they started rapping in 1994.

One of the brothers ‘Stone’ recalled when he was in primary six, he wrote a free style and his class teacher allowed him to perform it in class during break. This caught the attention of his senior brother, Okyeame Kwame. Listen to Simple by Da Bradez

The duo went on from there to perform at kiddafest, a festival for children and they won the competition that year.

Although they have been rapping for a very long time now, they actual started working on their first album after they completed Prempeh Senior High School and they worked with renowned sound engineer Morris Babyface and Root I who offered them a lot of support.

The duo said they get their music inspiration from what goes on around them. “We look around. Music is everything. Everything we see, everything we hear is music.”

Bradez currently have two albums to their credit and they can boast of hits like, One Gallon, Flashe and Simple.

They were very excited with the improvements that the hiplife music industry has seen lately.

“We have corporate bodies now investing in music which is making musicians get money. When you take a song like ‘Simple’ to Nigeria, it will be a big hit,” they said.

“The way hiplife is going is good, I think it will be international in the next two to three years,” the duo added.

Their elder brother, Okyeame Kwame, they said, has played a major role in their success and he has always encouraged them to reach for higher heights.

They refuted stories that there is a competition between them and Sakordie and that they are not in good terms since they both have the same style of rapping (tongue twisting). They said they have a good relationship with Sarkodie.
