One of the latest eye-catching acts on the music scene, Ayigbe Edem, launches his debut “Volta Regime” at the Accra mall this Saturday, January 31 from 2:00pm.

There will be an afterparty at the Boomerang Night Club where the featured artiste on the album; Samini, Kwaw Kese, K. K. Fosu, Tinny and Kwabena Kwabena will all perform.

“Volta Regime” is a very bold attempt by Edem to establish that contemporary styles can be rendered in Ewe as effectively as in Twi or Ga. The 13 tracks on the album were al recorded by Hammer. Though relatively new, Edem is already rubbing shoulders with ‘big’ guys around. He performed at the last Joy FM Night With The Stars show and has done a national tour with Obrafour. He opened the show in Accra in 2007 for American star, John Legend.

Before his debut album came out, Edem had a track on a compilation album by Hammer called ‘Crusade of The Lost Files’. That piece gave a lot of people on indication of his capabilities and the arrival of ‘Volta Regime’ has confirmed that is a bundle of talent waiting to explode in a big way soon.
