Youth Kente Dance 2010 is an event been organized by Jutaco Music Production USA and TV Content Entertainment Ltd Ghana to encourage Ghanaian youth abroad especially USA to espouse the Ghanaian Culture. This is the 2nd (second) year of the event and the enthusiasm generated by the first, demands we invite musicians and other performers from Ghana to entertain the youth.
The event is aimed at portraying Kente, increasing Ghanaian culture and also to educate the Ghanaian youth in America about their mislaid culture. This will enable Ghanaians who were born there or have not an opportunity to be back home for a long time and who are not abreast with the Ghanaian culture to feel what it is like to truly Ghanaian.
The dress code is all Kente attire to make the event very colourful. The concerts also entail live band and the performing musicians will be backed by a band to deliver authentic Ghanaian rhythms abroad. The events will be recorded and later telecasted on television in Ghana.
The musicians together with their bands and some selected traditional dance and ensemble group will set alight the New York on the 31st of July, 2010 at the United Assemblies Church Hall, 800 East 218th Street on Barnes, Bronx, NY 10467 and the second in Maryland on the 21st of August at the SLIGO Adventist School, 8300 Carroll Ave, Tahoma Park. MD 20912.
The musicians include popular artiste hip life and hi-life like Obour and A. B Crentsil respectfully. Also on the bill is the newest sensational afro pop kid Anas and gospel musicians like Mama Joan and Evangelist Allottey Quaye who have interesting Ga songs to light up the event.
When the organizers of the show were contacted to comment on the show, they said last year event was one of the best traditional events last year and hope to better it this year. They said the event is also aimed at educating all and sundry and entreat participation by all, both Ghanaians and Americans alike.
