The much talked about and widely publicised Spoken Word event of the moment ALEWA is here again with an all new line up including the best rapper alive, the doctor who is specialized in rap, Okyeame Kwame as the guest poet of the show.

Okyeame Kwame is one-lf of famed erstwhile Ghanaian rap duo, Akyeame, his real name is Kwame Nsiah Appau. Talk of the real rhyming in Ghanaian songs and his name comes top. What most people don't know about Okyeame Kwame is that he is a poet.

Poetry is his real passion and indeed it lives in him, so its no surprise that this creative writing ability is always evident and present in his songs.

Okyeame Kwame has become one of the most respected and sought-after musician. His last album, M'awensem (My poetry) was written in stanzas, as a lyrical analysis of the whole album revealed the poetical nature of the songs and his use of some literary devices such as metaphors, rhyme, imagery, diction and alliteration there is no question about he being a spoken word emcee. Spoken word poetry offers something of a bridge between traditional poetry and rap.

Okyeame Kwame has featured on so many albums of talented musicians and won several awards including artiste of the year 2009. He thinks that he has achieved almost half of his dream and he is working hard on the other half which includes pushing poetry to the heights it deserves in Ghana.
