DJ Arafat passes on; African celebrities react

Ivorian singer, DJ Arafat, has been confirmed dead after he got involved in an accident.

According to confirmed reports, the Ivorian star died in a motor crash in Abidjan.

“Death of artist DJ Arafat… today at 8 am as a result of a road accident overnight,” Ivorian broadcaster, RTI confirmed in a tweet concerning the artiste.

Reports contained that he smashed his motorbike into a car. He was critically injured and rushed to an Abidjan hospital but died later.

DJ Arafat was born in the Ivorian capital Abidjan in 1986. Ange Didier Huon as he is called in real life released 11 albums to his name.

His honours include; Best Francophone Award at the 2015 MAMAs, Best African Act at the 2015 MTV EMA etc.

Top African celebrities have taken to their social media pages to express how bad they have taken the news of the death of DJ Arafat.

Former Ivorian National Team Captain and Chelsea star, Didier Drogba, Sarkodie, Davido and others have all reacted.

Ghanaian footballer, Asamoah Gyan has also expressed a word or two about the sudden death of the musician. He posted, “RIP @djarafat hmmm life”.

Togolese international footballer, Emmanuel Adebayor also shared a word about the death of the artiste.
