Global Afrobeats and Reggae-Dancehall star Stonebwoy has been honored with the prestigious EMY Africa Man of the Year – Music Award, solidifying his status as one of Africa’s most celebrated and influential artists.
The accolade was presented during the 9th EMY Africa Awards, held on November 25, 2024, at the Grand Arena in Accra. The star-studded event brought together prominent figures, industry leaders, and trailblazers from across Africa to celebrate excellence and outstanding achievements.
Stonebwoy, born Livingstone Etse Satekla, received the award for his exceptional contributions to African music and his Ghana-centric artistry, which authentically showcases the nation’s rich culture while resonating with a global audience. This marks his second win in the category, having previously been recognized at the 6th edition in 2021.
The EMY Africa honor caps a phenomenal year for the Ghanaian music icon. Stonebwoy’s 2024 highlights include:
- Releasing the critically acclaimed 5TH DIMENSION album, which earned a spot on the Billboard charts.
- Headlining over 90 shows across multiple continents.
