Artist manager Dennis Ofosu has stressed the vital role of artist development in building a stronger music industry in Ghana.
He pointed out that many musicians still struggle with the basic skills and industry knowledge needed to succeed. “There’s a real need for training and capacity-building programs that can empower artists with the tools required to thrive,” he emphasized.
Despite these hurdles, Ofosu remains hopeful about the future of Ghanaian music. “The talent here is incredible. With proper support systems and the right structures, Ghanaian artists can stand tall among the best globally,” he noted.
He further called on industry players to unite in addressing these challenges. “Collaboration is key. We need to work together and support one another if we want to create a music industry that benefits us all,” he urged.
His comments shed light on both the difficulties and opportunities present within the sector.
As Ghana’s music scene continues to grow, tackling the structural gaps and nurturing its wealth of talent will be essential in elevating the industry onto the world stage.
