Terrific nominees jam ushers in 2018 Vodafone Ghana Music Awards

On Friday night the Vodafone Ghana Music Awards (VGMA) nominees jam was held at the Cape Coast Jubilee park to an overflowing crowd.

There was no shortage of fun, fan, music, great performances and awesome production as once again the Ghana Music Awards proved to be the topmost awards scheme in the country with respect to its prestige and organisation.

The nominees’ jam, a yearly mini-concert which features selected VGMA nominated artistes performing to an audience in a selected regional capital outside Accra, drew both young and old residents of the Central Regional capital into attendance.

And yes, they surely left feeling joyfully entertained from the non-stop music that was on the show. Who could take away that epic show headlining performance by Samini from their memories?

The clamour of Teephlow which culminated in him mounting the stage could well be folklore to be told to the younger generations in years to come.

King Promise, KiDi, Kofi Kinaata and R2Bees took turns to charge up the crowd whiles Kuami Eugene also gave enough account of why he is perhaps the hottest new artist in the country presently.

The 2018 nominees jam also had an energetic gospel feel to it as Gifty Osei, Joyce Blessing and Patience Nyarko all took turns to lead everyone at the venue through a praise and worship session.

The Unsung category nominees also gave enough evidence as to why they were picked for that category. Performance after performance all 6 artistes gave their all in electrifying stagecraft that drew wild cheers and applause from the crowd.

From Royal Chris, DopeNation and Dhat Gyal to Real MC, O’Bkay & Kelvyn Boy, there was no shortage of entertainment as each nominee won over the fans.

The 2018 nominees jam might arguably be tagged as the best nominees jam so far with the production, stage set up, performances and security being of the highest quality ever seen in recent times.

If the nominees’ jam is anything to go by, then the 2018 Vodafone Ghana Music Awards will be one for the gods.
