Hiplife is my passion – Rufus

Following the successful release of his first album, ” Yaroo”, Andrews Rufus Martie, aka, Rufus, has made good his word of taking hiplife by storm with his second release.

Titled “Odo Akoma”, the new album has 8 songs which collectively are an improvement from his previous work.

The album opens with “Come Back”, a neatly arranged song with good instrumentation. Rufus never stops talking about how romantic he can be and this shows in most of his love songs. As the title suggests, Rufus uses this song to appeal to his long-lost love to “Come Back” to him.

The title of the album, “Odo Akoma” is the next track, and as usual, Rufus never disappoints in using rich and decent lyrics to compliment his lover and send the subtle message that “love is a matter of the heart and this must be well guarded”.

The reason for saying this album is an improvement of Rufus’ previous work is the fact that he featured another great talent called Mary in some of his tracks.

Mary’s sweet melodious voice can be heard in tracks like ” Bogyi” and “Wodo”. Two danceable tracks that have a highlife feel in their instrumentation and beats.

” Love is something everybody embraces and it has market value as well. Besides, I have a passion for creating a loving atmosphere through my gift of music”, he said.
