My greatest joy is to help artists become hitmakers – Artiste manager Okoronkwo

Artiste manager Okoronkwo says his greatest joy is to see artists blow and that feeling just catapults him to cloud nine.

It is based on this that Okoronkwo, real name, Ebenezer Adu Boahene says he is working on establishing a record label to support up-and-coming artists

“Nothing beats that feeling when an artiste manager sees a young underground talent blow into a big star. That is certainly the mark of any good manager but it doesn’t come on a silver platter. It comes with a lot of sacrifices,” he said.

He mentioned that notwithstanding the betrayal from young artists when they have been groomed to succeed, the joy of bringing talent to the spotlight overshadows disloyalty.

“You always have to be ready for anything. Sometimes, the betrayal from these artists when they get to the peak of the ladder of success can be frustrating particularly when you have invested so much. But personally, I overlook these things and rather ride on the pride of seeing my artiste making it with flying colors,” he added.

Okoronkwo is the Managing Director of Adu Boahene & Enterprise in Kumasi but likes to keep a low profile.

“Some of these young artists are ungrateful and as a result, make it difficult for individuals and record labels to help them. But the likes of Lynx Entertainment and RuffTown Records are doing well and need to be applauded,” he said.
