Rising Alternative and Afro Fusion artiste Treky returns from his long break with a new single titled “Mamiwota.”. The afro fusion song was released on May 30, 2024, as a follow up to his cult hit CRISIS, released a year ago.
The track is an amalgamation of slow-paced rhythmic Afropop and dark synths that is very characteristic of Treky’s sound, even on this spellbinding pop love song. He confesses his devotion to a woman, who, according to him, bears semblance in seduction to the mythical mermaid creature over a beautiful minimalistic Afropop instrumental.
Produced by Boaz, the track is another look into the young artiste’s musical ability. Last year, Treky caught many ears with a song that was quite reminiscent of The Weeknd, titled CRISIS. His new song “Mamiwota” shows how the rising star can step into the commercial sound just as well as he does in his alternative bag.
