William Bramwell Koufie, popularly known as Lexikon, is a Ghanaian reggae and dancehall artist, insurance consultant, father, and social advocate.
Born on 14 August 1980 in Cape Coast, Ghana, he has dedicated his life to using music as a platform to inspire, educate, and empower people, particularly the youth.
Lexikon received his early education in Cape Coast before attending Mfantsipim School. He later pursued professional studies with the Chartered Institute of Marketing (UK), combining his passion for music with a strong background in business and marketing.
Growing up in Cape Coast, a city rich in African history, had a lasting impact on his life. Frequent visits to Cape Coast Castle and other historic forts helped deepen his understanding of the continent’s past and strengthened his commitment to promoting African identity, culture, and unity through his music.
Over the years, Lexikon has released approximately 15 solo reggae and dancehall albums. His songs address issues such as youth empowerment, social justice, corrupt leadership, faith, and personal transformation.
Through his lyrics, he encourages listeners to embrace positive values, believe in themselves, and contribute to building stronger communities.
His message is also expressed through the BAANFIRE Revolution (Born An African Nation for Inner Renewal & Empowerment), an initiative that promotes African heritage, self-awareness, responsible leadership, and empowerment.
Alongside this, he leads the CHRIST-FOR-I-MISSION, which seeks to redirect young people to Christ while encouraging unity, peace, and the preservation of African culture and values.
For Lexikon, music is more than entertainment. It is a tool for raising awareness, inspiring change, and encouraging spiritual and personal growth. His mission continues to combine faith, activism, and creativity to make a positive impact on society.
Lexikon currently lives in Accra, Ghana, with his family, where he continues to pursue his music career while working as an insurance consultant and mentoring young people through his advocacy.
