Following the release of last month’s Y2K nostalgia trip “That Way,” King Promise and Mr Eazi return for yet another collaboration with “Mariana.”
The single is the third drop from the Afrobeats stars’ highly anticipated joint LP, See What We’ve Done, coming April 15th via emPawa Africa. An official “Mariana” music video drops on March 25th.
Produced by AOD (Stormzy, Ayra Starr) and Tudor Rose, “Mariana” echoes the warmth of Mr Eazi and King Promise’s previous collaborations, like “Call Waiting” and “Dabebi.” Built on a slow-burning rhythmic foundation, the track leans into soft percussion and spacious production, creating a nocturnal, cinematic feel. A deeply romantic release, it reflects the “lover-boy” era both artists have been honing – keeping things melodically simple while delivering emotional depth through tone and texture, blending contemporary Afro-R&B with ambient influences, sitting comfortably between intimate groove and modern production.
“Mariana” follows the momentum of “That Way,” which has now surpassed 6.6M streams across DSPs and continues to gain international traction. The track is currently charting across 10+ territories, including across Europe and the Middle East, alongside a top 20 position on the UK Afrobeats Chart, with support from key U.K. platforms and tastemakers across BBC 1Xtra, Capital Xtra, and KISS Xtra. The new single also builds on the success of “See What We’ve Done,” the album’s title track, which has amassed over 10M+ streams to date.
