Joywxrld, winner of the AfroFuture Rising Star competition, is set to release his official debut single, “Wonderland,” on September 1, 2026.
The release marks the first major commercial release from the AfroFuture Rising Star platform and introduces one of Ghana’s most exciting emerging voices to a wider audience.

The AfroFuture Rising Star platform has been in existence since 2019. Created to discover emerging young talent, the platform helps artists reach new audiences around the world through music exposure, artist development opportunities and the chance to perform live at the AfroFuture Festival. Each year, the competition receives more than 200 entries from artists across the globe.
As part of his winning package, Joywxrld received a GH₵10,000 cash prize, support from The Continent.Live (TCL) and the AfroFuture team, press support, and the opportunity to release a single distributed by The Orchard, along with a dedicated marketing budget.
Blending soulful melodies, African rhythms and contemporary Afro-fusion, “Wonderland” tells a heartfelt story of love, growth and emotional connection.
The record explores themes of vulnerability, commitment and finding peace through genuine love, delivering a warm and relatable sound designed to resonate with today’s generation.
Joywxrld earned the Rising Star title through his originality, songwriting ability and captivating live performances. “Wonderland” marks the beginning of his journey as a recording artist while reflecting AfroFuture’s commitment to discovering, developing and championing the next generation of African talent.
