Black Sherif has given SUN SHERIF its first official visual. The Konongo-born star has released the official video for “Run Around”, a piano-led cut from the six-track EP that landed on September 4 via Blacko Management / EMPIRE.
The clip is live on his YouTube channel and follows a lyric video that went up with the project. The official video is the tighter, 2:14 cut; the lyric video runs closer to the full song. Early view counts are still modest next to older Blacko videos such as “Find A Way” and “PopStar,” but the song is already living on the charts rather than waiting for a visual to introduce it.
That is the story around this rollout: the music arrived first, and the pictures are catching up.
Black Sherif does not need a video to chart in Ghana. He has spent years proving that. What a visual does is freeze the new tone.
His catalogue videos — “Kwaku the Traveller,” “January 9th,” “Rebel Music,” “PopStar,” “Top of the Morning” — often work like short films: movement, pressure, myth. “Run Around” is a different assignment. If the song is about someone circling a love they will not sit still for, the video has to show that restlessness without turning it into another street epic.
The official video dropping a few days after the EP also keeps the campaign from going quiet. SUN SHERIF did not arrive with a long teaser cycle. It arrived with a date, a statement, and then the music. A video in week one tells fans the project is still unfolding.
Black Sherif is 24. He has already taken Ghana’s streaming era by the throat, stacked Billboard Afrobeats entries, and followed a breakthrough debut with an awards-season sophomore album. SUN SHERIF is the test of whether he can keep that grip while writing about tenderness instead of only survival.
Early evidence says yes. The EP is parked at No. 2 in Ghana. Multiple tracks are inside the national Top 20. “Jolie” and “Expresso” are the current radio-and-playlist engines. “Run Around” is the one getting the camera.
That is a smart sequence. Let the catchiest songs pull streams. Give the most intimate one a face.
