The Chief Executive Officer of REM Properties, Mr Illiasu Lukeman has called on the Ministry of Tourism, Arts and Culture to place a special interest in the fast-growing creative industry of Ghana.

The CEO, who is also an artiste manager in an interview, asked the Ministry to focus on the creative industry since it has the potential to create jobs for youth in the country.

He mentioned that the nation must know what she had and tightly hold on to it as most nations had their images boosted internationally as a result of exploits by talented citizens.

“When good policies and structures are put in place to promote music, movies, and cultural tourism among others the nation stands to benefit and could make a lot from its unique and rich culture.

He said Ghanaian culture, music and dance, and tourism when promoted and valued, will help in diverse ways to educate the people who do not know the true history and culture of Ghana.

He however tasked metropolitan, municipal, and district chief executives to collaborate with the Ministry of Tourism and Ghana Tourism Authority (GTA) to promote Ghanaian music and dance, and cultural tourism among others vigorously to the benefit of all Ghanaians.

The artiste manager observed that the promotion of tourism, culture, and creative arts is a shared responsibility that requires the contribution of all stakeholders including policymakers, the private sector, and traditional authorities among others.
