K.O.G. & The Zongo Brigade will bring their Afro-fusion of African music, Dancehall, Hip-hop, Funk and Jazz to Leeds for this year’s Soul Rebels Sessions Christmas Party.
Based in Sheffield, the Ghanaian band is made up of an enigmatic and dynamic frontman and his 9 piece band of merry men who feature some of the best musicians in the north of England.
They deliver infectious West African vibes with a brew of Afrobeat, Soul, Funk and Reggae otherwise dubbed ‘Afro-fusion’ from Ghana via Sheffield to the world.
Formed in 2014, they won the Emerging Talents competition (over 6000 entries) to play on the West Holts stage at the Glastonbury Festival.
They smashed it and have gone on to quickly established themselves as one of the summer festivals favourites in the last few years.
This December’s Soul Rebels will have DJs Lubi & Chris Welch (Soundwave/Sounds Like This) plus special guest top UK turntablist DJ Andy H (Tuesday Club/Soundwave/First Word Records).
The Soul Rebel Chriistmas party will take place at the Belgrave Music Hall on the 2nd of December.
