With a gentle soul and a reserved nature, growing up as young Richard was not easy. He had to face up to bullies who proved to be a real thorn in his flesh, due to being small in stature. However through his newly found love in  music, he was able to overcame that period of adversities in his young life.

When asked about his experiences, he said, “ Growing up in Africa was not easy, because we moved around a lot and my mother was living in the UK.  But God and music kept me. It became the fabric of my being, although I kept much of my music from my family”.

In 2008, he relocated to the UK to reunite with his mom and to also continue with his education. It was at this time that he met and made friends with a rapper. Together they formed the group R&D and released the single, “Love like Fire’ which gained a good response.

When asked about his influences in music, it was no surprise to hear him say, “Oh, It has always been Micheal Jackson, and also Tuface Idibia, Usher, P-Square and Lagbaia Felakuti, plus many more”.

In 2012 he embarked on his solo career in music and subsequently released the singles, ‘Promise’ and ‘Maro’.

His new and debut single under Skidopac Promotions is set to be released on Friday 26 May 2017 and is entitled “Glory”.

The song speaks about the challenges and obstacles he had to face throughout his musical journey, and how God has helped him to overcome.

Finally when we asked him about his hopes, his final words were, “ I hope that through my music, i can change lives and give people hope to know that no situation is permanent. Because music is not just a gift but a privilege”.

And what a privilege it has been to get to know this new artist!
