With a pen sharpened by personal growth and a soundscape rooted in rich Afrobeat tradition, Nigerian singer and songwriter Spy Shitta begins a bold new chapter with the release of his Warner Music Africa debut single, “Early Momo”, arriving 6 June 2025. The track, a melodic tapestry of heartfelt storytelling and sonic reinvention, marks the first drop in a reintroduction campaign that transcends the typical rollout.

This is Spy 2.0 — a refined voice with a clear intention to build a legacy, not just virality. The journey here has been anything but linear: from the grassroots streets of Abesan Estate, Lagos, to the stages of digital virality via his cover of Asake’s Lonely at the Top, Spy Shitta has stayed patient, focused, and hungry. Now, backed by Warner Music Africa, he’s stepping out and launching a movement.

Early Momo is such a special record that it took me exactly a year to finish,” says Spy. “It was written during a period of personal transformation and also serves as a sonic reset for me as an artist. Inspired by a true-life love story, it’s a breath of fresh air — rich, emotional, and unlike anything out there.”

The single is part of a broader rollout that will see the release of I Gotchu” on 9 July 2025 as a lead offering from Warner Music Africa’s upcoming Abidjan Writing Camp compilation, followed closely by Spy’s official 7-track EP dropping on 18 July 2025. Titled to be revealed, the project features the highly anticipated focus track “Ayaya” featuring Oxlade, which will be a union of two melodic powerhouses.

The campaign is crafted to introduce new music and establish Spy Shitta as a brand with depth, clarity, and charisma. For the loyal fans and the soon-to-be converts, now known as Agentz, this marks the beginning of something special: an era of context, consistency, and connection.
