My Ex” crooner, Doji Sonx, formerly known as Eduwodzi, has revealed various feats attained after his Yenko Nkoaa hit song back in the day that went undocumented due to his previous amateur team.

In a recent interview on the Best Entertainment Show on Okay FM, hosted by Halifax Ansah-Addo, Doji Sonx shared fascinating highlights from his career, shedding light on his past accomplishments and the challenges he faced along the way.

The Hitmaker Returns:

Doji Sonx’s rise to fame began with his hit single, “Yenko Nkoa.” Little did he know that this track would transcend borders and reach the ears of the president of Equatorial Guinea, Teodoro Obiang Nguema Mbasogo.

The president personally invited Doji Sonx to express gratitude for the role his hit single, Yenko Nkoaa, which he used as a campaign song played in his electoral success.

An Unexpected Meaning:

Within the lyrics of “Yenko Nkoaa,” a specific line, “Bena Bena ma zi do me,” took on a different significance when tweaked to “Bena Bena ma ci te me.” This alteration, in the Equatoguinean Spanish language spoken in the capital city of Malabo, meant “it’s my time to win.”

This linguistic adaptation undoubtedly resonated with locals and solidified Doji Sonx’s connection with his Equatorial Guinean audience.

Unforgettable Moments:

Doji Sonx shared vivid memories of his unforgettable experiences during his time in Equatorial Guinea. He became the first Ghanaian artiste to fly on a private jet to the country, where he performed for a crowd at a fully-packed and sold-out concert on Zipopo beach, alongside the renowned P-Square.

Additionally, he dazzled high-ranking officials and ministers of state at one of Zipopo’s prestigious clubs, outshining Nigerian artiste Wizboyy in the process.

The Absence of Documentation:

While these remarkable milestones would typically be immortalized through photos and videos, Doji Sonx expressed regret over the lack of proper documentation due to the unprofessionalism of his team members at the time.

This setback became one of the primary motivations for his subsequent hiatus, during which he sought to build a more professional team and gain a comprehensive understanding of the evolving music industry.

A Fresh Start and Rebranding:

Now armed with a newfound dedication and determination, Doji Sonx has returned to the music scene with his latest single, “My Ex.”

The track showcases his growth as an artiste and serves as a testament to his commitment to creating exceptional music. With its captivating melodies and relatable lyrics, “My Ex” promises to resonate with fans both old and new.

Doji Sonx’s comeback signifies a triumphant return to the music scene, as he reignites his career with “My Ex.” Having previously achieved acclaim and made a lasting impression in Ghana, Equatorial Guinea and Africa at large, he is ready to continue captivating audiences worldwide with his talent and unique musical style.
