Talented Ghanaian music duo, M Squra, has called on Ghanaian artistes to compose good lyrics that would educate the masses on issues affecting the development of society.
They mentioned that most of the lyrics in some of the hiplife songs on the music market are not good.
According to MERSH4REAL, the leader of the group – Ghanaian musicians should also use their music to inspire.
Meshak Ayetey Hountpati, who is also known in the music scene as MERSH4REAL added that although the rhythm of some hiplife songs hasn’t changed in the past years, many of the contemporary and hiplife artistes do not enrich their songs with good lyrics, thereby, making it difficult for people to patronize their music.
Speaking in an interview with Murphy who is known in real life as Elliot Nortey; he said “I think some musicians are doing well in terms of keeping the rhythm high but the only problem I have with them is, their contents are not lyrically rich”.
The hiplife group, who has been in the industry for some time and has worked with a number of celebrated gospel artistes and was reacting to concerns raised by some of the stakeholders saying the industry has tolerated a lot of bad songs and is about time artistes put their heads together and write good lyrics, adding that, music, they say, is the food to the soul, so it must be prepared well.
