Dance industry needs attention too – Cracker
Award-winning choreographer/dancer, Richard Asiedu popularly known as Cracker says that the entertainment industry is not limited to just music, films, and theatre. As such, attention should equally be given to the other branches, particularly the dance sector.
He believes that the dance sector has evolved over the years with the likes of DWP Academy among others taking the spotlight with international performances.
“The arts and entertainment industry is not limited to just music, films, or theatre. There are many branches and they all deserve attention for the collective growth of the industry.
“Our professional dancers are doing well and the industry is growing so the sector deserves more attention,” he stated.
Cracker also urged the Ghanaian media to give attention to the Dance industry.
He mentioned that even though the various entertainment programs draw relevant discussions on the other domains of the creative industry, the dance sector has been left out of the space.
“A number of times, discussions about actors, musicians, comedians, spoken word artists among others have been on the board but yet to know or listen to that of the dance sector.
“I believe this is a good call for the stakeholders and players in that space to change the way things have been,” he stated.
