What’s profane about Akoma? – Willie Roi
Willie Roi, a regular entertainment morning show panelist has leaped to the defence of a music group Keche after recent comments on their new song.
The music group in recent social commentary have been critiqued by the general public for the tone of their new single, Akoma.
Akoma is a 3.25-minute Afrobeats song by Keche featuring rapper Medikal. Many people believe the song is explicit and should be given limited airplay but Willie Roi disagrees.
Willie Roi, a member of the Ghana Association of Songwriters said on Rainbow FM “It’s not a profane song, what’s profane about it?”.
“A profane song is an explicit song which is X rated, the writer doesn’t apply wisdom in writing, and they just say things plainly as they are but suggestive songs are not profane songs”.
The lyrics to the song celebrate the physical features and attributes of females, something Medikal can well relate to.
