Behind The Scenes of Sarkodie’s ‘Legend’ music video

Ghana’s Rap king and 2019 VGMA Artiste of the Decade, Sarkodie, goes hard on his ‘Legend’ single off the Alpha Tape, accompanied by a hardcore audiovisual that well compliments the Hiphop vibe of the song.

But before you start praising what you see as the end product, a critical look at the behind scenes reveal the hectic nature of producing a 3 minute 12 second music video of such perfection as the ‘Legend’ music video.

Directed by the Nigerian CEO of Capital Dream Pictures, filmmaker and cinematographer, Clarence Peters, the video featured elements of Hiphop culture like the skateboards and graffiti arts on the walls as well as other aesthetic props that added up to the whole visualization like bikes, guns, smoke sticks and the usual models.

Think of the hours it took to clean up that empty swimming pool and the various setups with lights and wall paintings as well as the outdoor shots of the racecourse for the motor riders.

One of the peoples favorite, Joey B, who got featured on this tune was also seen brandishing a gun during his scene. It could by far be a representation of parts of the Hiphop culture and a tease to the VGMA fracas that occurred last month.

In a nutshell, they made much use of simple everyday locations and abandoned structures and turned it into a piece of artwork worth appreciating. They were successful in translating the Hiphop genre into a visible scenery that typifies the fruits of an actual legend.
