Amapiano has taken over the streets of Mzansi with DJ Stokie the leader of Soweto Amapiano; a DJ and Producer in his own league.
Coming off the widespread success of his ‘Bamba La’ hit featuring Leehleza, co-produced with Kabza de Small, Stokie has been cooking up a storm in studio with Lebo and Killa.
‘Ama International’ showcases his distinct signature sound; becoming one of his biggest hits from his forthcoming album.
The Soweto-born is a mastermind of deep, feel-good and soulful mixes that gets the crowd moving from the moment he starts his set until the last song; it is no wonder the DJ’s weekends are fully booked and his social media platforms are brimming with adoration from fans across the country.
DJ Stokie, real name Setoki Mbatha, started his career in the 90’s from his room in Mzimhlophe.
The self-taught music maestro is inspired by the likes of Soweto’s top DJ’s namely Mpopo, Fetsi, Ma-Leven, Mahlomola and Mdoo.
His success traces back to 2006 when he became a finalist of the Mad Half Hour, a feature on Joburg’s popular youth station, YFM. The station’s listeners were inspired by his piano fingers and Stokie found himself gigging in townships across Johannesburg.
Today, he plays alongside some of SA’s music legends DJ Christos, Vinni da Vinci, Ralf Gum and DJ China.
Ama International puts Amapiano on the map with DJ Stokie as its maestro.
