Shatta Wale, Joe Mettle, Stonebwoy, Okyeame Kwame & Medikal nominated for Exclusive Men of the Year (EMY) Awards ’17
The Ghanaian music world is dominated by males dishing out great tunes every now and then. Armed in mind with this statistic, it came as no surprise as to the number of male music artists that were nominated in the 2017 Exclusive Men of the Year (EMY) Awards.
The EMY Awards seeks to recognise and celebrate great men from entertainment to business, sports etc. to serve as role models to younger men. This will be the second edition of the awards scheme with Dr. Paa Kwesi Nduom adjudged the Man of the Year in 2016.
Joe Mettle’s honours keep piling up after picking up the Artiste of the Year at the 2017 VGMA with a nomination in the Man of the Year – Entertainment category.
Joe Mettle is joined in that category by Shatta Wale. The crowds favourite and highly charged up artist could not have been overlooked when his hit single ‘Taking Over’ ruling the airways.
Thrown in the mix and completing the trio of musicians is Stonebwoy. Stonebwoy been playing shows outside the country like no one’s business.
Okyeame Kwame gets recognised in the Man of the Year – Style category for his enviable fashion sense.
The Small Small hit maker has been turning heads with his style of late and that earns him this privileged that no other musician gets.
In every event organised at the turn of last year into this year, one name has popped up in every discovery category. So it comes as no surprise that Medikal is nominated in the discovery of the year category. The artist truly deserves this nomination with the work shifts he has put in over the period under review.
The presence of the five artists should encourage up and coming artist to strive in their field.
